The Evaluation and Selection Process for Consumer Rights Supportive Enterprises began in 2001, and since then, the Consumer Protection Organization has completed 22 rounds of recognizing top enterprises that uphold consumer rights. Selected enterprises are honored with national certificates and trophies for adhering to consumer rights.
This process selects top enterprises based on criteria including financial and sales standards, quality, distribution, pre-sale, sale, and after-sale services, effective customer communication, and overall customer satisfaction. Specific evaluation standards for both manufacturing and service sectors are outlined in corresponding regulations. The evaluation involves representatives from related divisions within the Consumer and Producer Protection Organization, as well as collaboration with officials from ministries and national organizations, including the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade; Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance; Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education; Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare; Ministry of Agriculture Jihad; National Standards Organization; Central Bank of Iran; the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture; Trade Promotion Organization of Iran; the Budget and Planning Organization; and the National Association for Consumer Rights Protection, who collectively serve on the Policy Council for Certification and Trophies.
The certificate and consumer rights compliance trophy are valid for one year from issuance. During this period, enterprises may reference this award in their marketing, though it does not grant immunity; enterprises are continuously monitored to ensure compliance with consumer rights standards.
A key feature of this process is the voluntary participation of enterprises. Statistics show how many enterprises at the national level have demonstrated commitment to consumer rights through self-evaluation. In the first year (2001), 32 companies applied for certification, and by the end of the 22nd round, over 7,500 applications had been submitted. Enterprises are encouraged to share feedback with the Secretariat at the address provided in the Secretariat's contact section to help improve the evaluation process.
